MAC Makeup Master Gordon Espinet
I’ve been playing with make up since I was 12 years old. I’ve done it professionally for more than three decades, but I still love to watch other amazingly talented Makeup Masters at work. They make it seem so effortless, they share their favorite techniques and products and inspire us to experiment. It’s only makeup and it does wash off.
It seems that everyone I work with seems to be totally fascinated with eyelashes! Lash Junkies are plentiful. What is our fascination with eyelashes, real or faux? It makes us feel sexy, youthful, glamorous. But, we don’t always have the time or the desire to apply false eyelashes. I still swear by three coats of a real great mascara. One coat just won’t do it.
I haven’t tried MAC’s new Haute & Naughty Mascara, but I love what Makeup Artist, Gordon Espinet does so effortlessly. Not only is this a great video to show you how quickly you can change from one look to another, you see just how easy it is to create that sought after cat’s eye liner effect.
The Magenta Madness and Sushi Flower Pink may be a little too edgy for some, but you can model this look with colors that you are already using, and update your look by just shifting the way you line your eyes. www.maccosmetics.com
A Recipe for Your Beautiful Bod

The Drink’s ON You!
Margarita Salt Body Rub
1 cup fine sea salt
2 oz. olive oil
The juice of one lime
3/4 oz. white tequila
Think of this as a toast to your beautiful body because the basic margarita makes an excellent natural body scrub. The lime and tequila are antiseptics that detox your skin and help improve tone and texture. Just combine the sea salt, olive oil, lime juice, and tequila in a bowl. Jump into the shower and rub the mixture onto your damp skin in small circles. If you want the salt to be a little softer then just add more oil to your mixture.
How to Create Sexy Smokey Eyes

Celebrity Makeup Artist Robin Matthews gave great face to Kristen Stewart for the film “The Runaways” where she played ’70s rock icon Joan Jett. Now that the film is about to come out on DVD, we asked her for a few tips on creating a sexy smoked eye.
HOW TO FROM ROBIN ON HOW TO SMOKE IT UP:
*It’s all about eyeliner pencil. Apply generously and smudge away!
*I like to use a small brush to smudge, but you can also use a sponge tipped applicator or even a Q-tip if you’re in a pinch.
*The key to getting it so worn in is to apply, smudge, then repeat. Also, we think of a smokey eye like Joan Jett’s as black or brown, but it can be any color.
*Cherie Currie (played by Dakota Fanning) was one of the first to show us that. She did smokey eyes with all sorts of color combinations such as blue and copper. Both these ladies broke down barriers for a lot of the make-up styles we wear today. On the red carpet today, we see smokey eyes in violet, green, blue, gray…you name it.
*As for mascara and liner pencils, there are so many great ones out there. The two that I happened to use on The Runaways are Make-up For Ever Aqua Eyes and MAC Kohl pencil. My favorite mascaras at the moment are Chanticaille Faux Cils, Make-up For Ever Smokey Lash, and Dior Show.
*I prefer a natural lip with a smoked eye.
Tech to Make Your Life Simple

Technology can be daunting as upgrades pop up every month and seems to advance with leaps instead of steps. So which ones are good to adopt in an effort to make your life easier? Here is a quick list of technology that has indeed made life simple:
1. Email Folders – Keep your inbox tame by putting your email into accessible folders. With emails ranging for simple communication to business updates to crisis, it becomes easy to lose an important message. Try organizing your incoming messages by ‘Archive,’ ‘Follow Up Now,’ and ‘Hold for Later.’

2. Smartphones – It could be argued that these devices keep us working day and night, but there’s no denying they do keep us on top of communication. Check out the popular iPhone and Blackberry to keep you connected. If you already have a smartphone, look for apps that make running your business or life easier.
3. GPS – Whether it’s on your phone or in your car, GPS has revolutionized the traditional driving directions. Try out the user-friendly TomTom ONE.
4. Tablet PCs – If your business requires multiple signatures, lots of note taking, and you’re trying to eliminate paper, look into a tablet PC. You can easily save your notes and have contracts signed without hauling around paper copies that can be lost. Check out Dell’s Latitude XT.
5. Syncing – Accessing documents from any device is made easy with online storage solutions that sync your files. Collaborate on documents and share files with ease while losing the hassle of thumbdrives. Try Box.net.
